Infrared or Traditional - The health benefits are the same.
The most obvious benefit for sauna use is relaxation, stress release and detoxification.*
There is a lot of literature about the health benefits of saunas, whether you are talking about infrared saunas or traditional saunas. Some of the information is related below.
During a 15 - 30 minute sauna your heart rate increases by 50% - 75%. This is a heart rate that is equivalent to that of a person during a brisk walk. |
There is a small effect on blood pressure because the blood vessels in the skin expand to accommodate increased blood flow. Blood vessels become more flexible and there is increased circulation to the extremities. The blood flow to the skin increases which brings more oxygen and nutrients to surface tissues. Steam baths and saunas induce sweating which adds to the detoxifying capacity of the skin by opening pores from the skin and flushing impurities from the body.
When taking a sauna, skin temperature rises to 40°C (104°F) and internal body temperature rises to about 38°C (100.4°F). This stimulates the immune system resulting in increase production of disease fighting white blood cells and antibodies. |

Prefabricated Chinook Sauna Kits |

Prefabricated kits are for the client who wants a moveable, standalone unit. They are designed and manufactured in Ottawa using select architectural and clear grade western red cedar. Chinook Sauna Kits have a unique modular design which can be assembled in 2 hours with no cutting or nailing required. Every thing you need is included. At your request we can complete the installation for you at an additional charge. All you need is an electrician to hook up the wiring.The prefabricated sauna can be easily dismantled and reassembled at a new location
should the need arise. |

Sauna Liner Kits - Do-It-Yourself Construction

| Chinook Sauna Liner packages are designed for the client who would like a built in unit and is comfortable doing the work themselves. We provide the heater, light, western red cedar, benches, door (including door hardware) and full instructions. You provide the framing, strapping, insulation, vapor barrier, hardware and labour. Delivery is included in the Ottawa area. |
